Our client, a leading international e-commerce company, is now hiring an Implementation/Release Manager.

The successful candidate will be overseeing the Release/Implementation Management lifecycle which will include scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple applications across various portfolios.

You will be required to produce plans setting out the release implementation activities (readiness checkpoints, decision points, rehearsals, release communications etc), and the release-critical project activities and milestones that need to be monitored in the weeks leading up to the release.

The releases can be inclusive of application updates, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, Projects and Programmes. Where necessary, tools and services will be provided to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production.

Working closely with Project Managers to develop and maintain a release schedule that supports the functional / technical delivery, testing, operations and business readiness.

Define and gain approval of the low-level release cutover plan, setting out the detailed activities (business and technical) required to implement the release.

The individual needs to be a self-motivated and be able to organise their work with a minimum of oversight. You must be comfortable working in a fast paced delivery environment with competing priorities.

The candidate must have experience of release management and associated tools, methodologies and approaches.

Skills required:

  • Extensive experience of release/implementation management
  • Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum/Devops environment
  • Advanced knowledge of the IT and change delivery life-cycle.
  • Proven stakeholder and key relationship management skills
  • Excellent communication, motivation and organisation skills.
  • Strong documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to co-ordinate cross functional work teams
