DevOps & Environments Manager

£70,000-£75,000pa experience dependent

Based in the Swindon area

Coming from a Traditional model, my client are currently undergoing the transition to a DevOps model and are looking for a DevOps & Environments Manager to join them, on a permanent basis, to help to ensure that this movement is as smooth as possible.

Being a Cloud first, the aim is for them to become a Cloud native company and are looking for someone that understands the transition and can support the journey for a large Financial Services company to adopt a DevOps culture.

Your role will be leading a team both onshore & offshore and assisting in task management whilst overseeing the non-production & configuration environments.

The Role:

  • Oversee Environment Management of a large non-Production estate
  • Develop & ensure adherence to the Software Configuration Management process across projects & Service Delivery
  • Set/influence the standards & approach for DevOps & the cultural & technical journey to adopt DevOps as a working model
  • Support the drive towards a Cloud Native approach to hosting & management
  • Management & oversight of administration of operational tolls in support of the Software Development & Service Management process including BitBucket, Jenkins, JIRA & SVN

Skills & Experience:

  • Have strong understanding of CI/CD process & working knowledge of tools such as Jenkins & Bamboo
  • Ability to evaluate designs & existing environment estates to propose suitable environment builds & configurations
  • Have a very good understanding of the DevOps tools used for software development, monitoring, configuration management, version control, infrastructure as code & test automation
  • Experience in managing a suite of environments
  • Experience of environment management & associated tools, methodologies & approaches
